Beauty Review Beauty Box - the first installment!

Kia Ora!

I know I've been a bit absent recently, but life has been spectacularly busy and the blog has been the thing to suffer. I've also been a bit Memeboxed out, but today I have a new box to share.

This is the first ever Beauty Review Beauty box! Guaranteed to have great value, and full-sized products. I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the box, and I'm so glad it is finally here. I debated waiting till Christmas, but my self-restraint is not that strong. So here we go!

Oooh it's so big! I've included a size picture for comparisons. Oooooh!

The card (front and back) for those who want the extra details.

The contents of the box, and we can finally dive in and see exactly what goodies await.

Discreets Scented Sanitary Disposal Bags – 2 purse packs

These are a useful and practical addition to the beauty box. Much more interesting than packs of tampons and pads (yes Goodiebox, I'm talking about you). These are handy to chuck in your bag, and they make it easier for disposing of grossness. I'm not excited about these per say, but I am happy to have them in this box.

RRP: $3

Full size.

Za Total Hydration Foamy Cleanser 100g

Cleanser. Woooh. I'm excited by this, but I have about 17 million cleansers thanks to Memebox. I'll use this but no point opening it for awhile as it would just go to waste.

RRP: $15

Full size.

Moisture Mist Moisturising Emulsion 150ml

This is a huge moisturiser. It will take ages for me to use it all up. I'm in the market for a morning moisturising step right now, and this seems to fit the bill nicely. How did Beauty Review know?? I've tried this out on the back of my hand, and it feels so soft and smooth now. The creamy gel sunk in quickly, and left my skin feeling wonderful. The scent is rather nice, not too overpowering. I can't wait to add thi to my routine!

RRP: $33

Full size.

Skinfood Breast Cream 100ml

I've been lusting after this cream since its release in October, and I'm really stoked to finally have it. I love the idea that it encourages women to check for breast cancer, while also being a lovely cream to make you feel good. It comes with a little brochure that explains how to check your breasts, and what some danger signs are. This is a useful guide, and will be great to help out anyone who doesn't know much about breast cancer (me, I'm talking about me here).

RRP: $11.95

Full size.

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Cleansing Wipes Travel Pack (10 wipes)

I've been dying to try this range for ages, but they always seem to  be just out of my budget. I like that this is a travel size, as it lets you try it out, but there isn't a huge pack of wipes to use up if you hate them. I've got a few different packs lined up at the moment, but will be using these as soon as I can. Thanks BR!

RRP: $5.99

Travel size.

Nivea In-Shower Smooth Lotion 400ml

This bottle is ginormous! I can't quite believe that a product of this size actually appeared in a beauty box. I've been hearing about in shower lotions for awhile now, but haven't found a huge desire to buy it myself. Perils of getting mystery boxes all the time I suppose. I'm pretty stoked to have this though, and it smells really good. It is a thick gloopy lotion, that does seem really moisturising. I'll be using this asap I think.

RRP: $ 9.49

Full size.

Za Eyes in Groovy Lady Brown

I love that there is an eyeshadow quad in here. And I am particularly enamoured with the colours. They are a great set of neutrals, albeit with lots of glitter. I'm slowly getting into the glitter thing, so will be happy to give these a go.

RRP: $20

Full size.

Moisture Mist Moisturising Lipstick

I received the colour Damask Rose, and it is a lovely pink shade. I was worried about getting unwearable lipstick colours (fears stemming from the bright oranges and reds Memebox tends to send out) but this is a lovely colour, and I can't wait to try it out. It swatched nicely, and built up to an opaque colour, but seems to be able to be less vibrant too. It seems to have a lasting stain too, as the swatch on my hand has lasted ages!

RRP: $22

Full size.

Za Pure Shine Lips

I received the colour Praline, and I'm officially in love! I love the sheer wash of neutral brown, flecked with subtle glitter. The formulation is really nice too, with it feeling a lot like a nice lip balm on my lips. It isn't drying, and is really easy to apply! I may have found myself a new best friend.

RRP: $14
Full size.

Swatches of the above lippies.

Swarzkopf Extra Care BB 11 in 1 100ml

I've never heard of a BB cream for hair before. It seems to be a serum-type formula, luckily without the tint that facial BB's come with. I was a bit worried to start with, but it is a simple white cream formula. It smells nice, and I'm anxious to try it out.

RRP: $ 11.99

Full size.

Swarzkopf Extra Care Hair Refill Shampoo and Conditioner 250ml each

I've just run out of my current shampoo, and am happy to see a couple of products to work together. These two and the serum will help repair damaged areas of hair from the inside out. This sounds perfect for me, and I can't wait to give it a go. I also like that got the purple bottles, but that's just because I love anything and everything to be in my favourite colour. What a great idea to send out all three products to be used in conjunction!

RRP: $6.95 each

Full size.

Swarzkopf Extra Care Hair Refill Instant Hair Filling Serum 60ml

This is clear thick serum, and come with a ropper applicator. It smells delicious, and I can't wait to use it with the shampoo and conditioner.

RRP: $11.99

Full size.

Ma Vie pour Femme – Hugo Boss 2ml

Apparently this scent is cactus blossom, pink floral bouquet with rose bud, and cedarwood. I don't think I can identify any of those individual things, but this is a lovely perfume scent. I will be wearing this to work tomorrow!

Neutrogena Oil Free Deep Clean Gentle Scrub; Za Mini Men's Ultimate Recharge Pack; Yes to Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub and Dark Spot Correcting Serum

These samples are all bonus items, and don't count towards the value of the box. I love that BR has included these, but isn't using them to artificially inflate the value of their box. I've not tried any of these products before, and will be using them over Christmas while travelling. I also like that the little samples included can be gifted to partners, husbands, or male friends so that they don't feel left out. Great idea!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total value of the box $170! I paid $50 for the box so it is well worth the value.

I love the overall curation of this box. It's got everything covered. Hair and face, body and makeup, moisturisers and cleansers, with a bunch of samples and random thing thrown in too. I am a little bit unbelieving of how good this box is, but I'm officially converted to the Beauty Review boxes, and will be getting every single one (if I can). I love that the card tells you the RRP of each item, and an overall total value of the box. I also like that it details all the different options that were detailed on the card, so that you don't have to search the depths of beauty blogs to figure out all the varieties. A high quality box, from a company that knows what it's customers want. Great work BR, can't wait to see what happens next.

These boxes are only available to member of Beauty Review, a great NZ based reviewing website. It's a great community, and more are always welcome. Sign up here if you are interested, and let me know what you think of their first beauty box. Personally, I am a fan and can't wait for the next one!

Until next time ...
